Nothing, the consumer electronics company founded by Carl Pei, is reportedly gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India. The Nothing Phone 2a, believed to be a more affordable variant of the Nothing Phone (2), has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. This suggests that the phone could be launched in India soon.

The BIS certification listing doesn’t reveal much about the phone’s specifications, but it does confirm the existence of the Nothing Phone 2a. The phone is expected to sport a similar design to the Nothing Phone (2), with a transparent back panel and Glyph LED strips. However, it is likely to come with some downgraded hardware to keep the price down.

According to rumors, the Nothing Phone 2a could feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It is also expected to have a dual-camera setup on the back and a single-camera setup on the front.

The Nothing Phone (2) was launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 32,999. The Nothing Phone 2a is expected to be priced more competitively, possibly around Rs. 20,000.

Nothing has not yet announced a launch date for the Nothing Phone 2a, but the BIS certification suggests that it could be coming soon. We expect to hear more about the phone in the coming weeks.
